A message from The Lithia Springs STEM Booster Club

As we begin another exciting academic year at Lithia Springs High School, the STEM Academy is working hard to have our best year ever! Our vison is to provide a challenging learning environment that is a model of innovation and excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), which maximizes individual potential and ensures students are well-equipped to meet the challenges in the world around them. We prepare students, through rigorous and relevant interdisciplinary problem-based content, to be productive and successful citizens of the 21st century’s global society by developing a strong work ethic, higher-order thinking skills, critical knowledge in the STEM fields, and advanced problem solving skill sets.

Some highlights which indicate the talents of our students and teachers here at Lithia Springs include:
* LSHS consistently sends more students to the Regional and State Science & Engineering Fair than any other Douglas County school.
* The c/o 2017 Valedictorian and Salutatorians were STEM students.
* AVG scholarship amount (c/o 2014-2017) = $79,899
* STEM graduates participate in at least 8 academic competitions, and complete a minimum of 128 hours of community service, a 60 internship, and a senior capstone project.
* Our biomedical, computer science, and engineering pathways are all industry and college certified (we utilize the PLTW curriculum - you can learn more about it at www.pltw.org).
* STEM students are immersed in hands-on, real-world, interdisciplinary project-based learning.
* Our FIRST Robotics team has made it to the State competition every year it has been in existence.
* We are 1 of only 2 HS programs that are both State and AdvancED Certified.
* We are recipients of the TAGEd STEM High School Award

2017-18 is shaping up to be another exciting school year. We appreciate all your help and support in helping these young men and women with their success!

How you can help the Lithia Springs STEM Students

The accomplishments we have made as students, teachers, and an organization take hard work, effort and resources. Unfortunately, our program is not completely funded by our school or our county. There is still a portion of our program's funding that continues to be generated from the students, their parents, and the support and generosity in the community.

As our students work hard this year in the classroom, we respectfully request your financial assistance as we continue our efforts in providing our students with the most rewarding academic experience possible. We are a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization (EIN 47-4659072), and as a result, your donations are tax deductible. Additionally, we wish to recognize your contributions through our tiered sponsor recognition program, which includes various benefits, including free premium advertising! Details are available online at http://www.lshsstem.com/sponsor-benefits.html.

Your generous donations will allow us to cover items such as supplemental instructional materials (lab supplies, software, books, etc.); teacher professional development; student enrichment activities (field trips, guest speakers, etc.); and lab equipment (3D printer, laser printer, infrared camera, etc.). Most important of all, your generous donation will provide our students and teachers with the support needed to develop strong, disciplined young men and women of character and integrity.

Thanks again for your support,

Lithia Springs High School
