A message from The Youth Shrine Bowl Committee
The Youth Shrine Bowl Battle of the Border's All-Star Football Game was designed to offer a High School level experience for 70 of our best 8th grade football players from both South and North Carolina. This game gives our young student-athletes an opportunity to showcase themselves against the best players at their age in the Carolina's. This year's game takes place on December 28 at the Sportsplex at Matthews in Charlotte NC. In addition to the tremendous game day experience, these young men are introduced to kids and coaches from all over the states, educated on the great works of the Shriners Hospitals, and given exposure into what big time football games are like. It gives them something to strive for in their football future!
This is a great event, and we are blessed to be working with great kids and families.
How you can help the 8th Grade All-Stars
The Youth Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas marks its fourth annual contest pitting football players from North Carolina vs South Carolina. In addition to allowing these young men an opportunity to test themselves on the gridiron against the most talented players in both states, it is played to benefit the Greenville (South Carolina) Unit Shriners Hospital for Children and the 21 other Shriners Hospitals for Children across the nation. The Youth Shrine Bowl is played in conjunction with the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas (the all-star event for the high school players) to raise funds and awareness of the Shriners mission in the Carolinas. The games culminate the year’s fund-raising efforts of the six shrine temples involved in operating the game.
Since the first high school game was played in 1937, over $75 million dollars have been raised for Shriners Hospitals. The young men in the Youth Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas are now doing their part to help support the Shriners Hospitals, and need your support.
For those of you unfamiliar with the fine work of the Shriners Hospitals for Children, the hospital has a mission to:
• Provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special healthcare needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment.
• Provide for the education of physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Conduct research to discover new knowledge that improves the quality of care and quality of life of children and families.
This mission is carried out without regard to race, color, creed, sex or sect, disability, national origin or ability of a patient or family to pay.

A Message From Jaden Singletary
Are you ready for some football? I am! I am also very excited to be part of the 2019 Youth Shrine Bowl game! This will be my 3rd year being selected to play! I can't tell you how excited I am to play in the game with the best players in NC and SC and see how I can compete!
One of our first challenges, off the field, is to help support the Shriners Hospitals. Our goal is for every player to raise $1,500 to help support the Shriners cause. If you would be willing to help me out with a donation of any amount I would really appreciate it.
