A message from Coach RJ Spelsberg
As the Head Coach of the Monacan High School Basketball Team, I am extremely excited about this upcoming season. We take great pride in our program and our goal is to continue to uphold the standard of excellence we expect on and off the court. As coaches, we ask a lot from our players and hold them to high standards in the classroom, on the basketball court, and in the community. Our program is looking forward to a great 2014-15 season and all of the challenges that will come along with it.
I would like to personally invite all of our Chief supporters to join us this season in support of our student athletes.
How you can help the Monacan Chiefs Basketball team
Continuing to pursue the high standards set by previous Monacan Basketball teams requires commitment, hard work, and resources. We attempt to provide our players with the best experience possible, providing them with the training and equipment they need to be successful. Unfortunately, high school athletics are not completely funded by our school and county. The majority of our program’s funding continues to be generated from the players, their parents, and the support and generosity of Monacan supporters from all over. The supporting cast is absolutely crucial to the success of this program. We hope that this fundraiser will help sustain the tradition of Monacan Basketball and give our student-athletes the best possible experience while playing for the Chiefs.
As our players continue to work hard in the classroom and on the court in preparation for the season, we respectfully request your financial assistance as we continue our efforts to provide our student-athletes championship resources and equipment. The contributions we receive will help us to cover the cost of player gear, equipment and travel costs for potential tournaments in the future. Most important of all, your generous donation will provide our players and coaches with the support needed to develop strong, disciplined young men of character, integrity, and pride.

A Message From Darian Peterson
Are you ready for some basketball? I am! I am also very excited to be part of the 2014-15 Monacan Basketball team. Our team has worked really hard preparing for this season, and we are ready for a long playoff run this season!
One of our first challenges, off the court, is to raise enough money to maintain the activities of the basketball program. Our coach has challenged each of us to raise at least $200 -- but more would be even better! If you would be willing to help me out with a donation I would really appreciate it.
