A message from Band Director Scott Barnstead
2014 is shaping up to be a tremendous year for the students in the Fannin County High School Band program! As the director of the band, my mission is to make our program the best it can possibly be. We constantly strive to set new performance standards for our current students. The lessons and experiences reach far beyond music. Discipline, Responsibility, and Leadership are our foundation. Just in the past three years, many of our students have received scholarships. We also had many achieve success in the District Honor Band and in All-State Band. We are hoping to continue our great traditions of excellence, traveling far and wide, and giving students unique experiences through the discipline of music.
We also understand their work does not end on the field or in the auditorium. In addition to the effort these kids put forth on their own, they are also committed to doing their part in the community. For the past several years we have participated in the Annual Christmas Parade, performed in the Light up Blue Ridge Parade, performed in the Veterans Day Parade, and participated in many other community events. Band students have participated in shopping for Empty Stocking, Collected food for the local food banks, and help welcome area businesses. Please join me in acknowledging the skills, dedication, and character of our amazing students!
How you can help our Band Program
We are excited about the growth of our program. The commitment from our band students and their parents is certainly amazing. The goals we have established for our entire program take hard work, effort, and resources to make them attainable. The school system does a great job funding our program, but it's not enough. The large majority of our program's funding continues to be generated from the students, their parents, and the support and generosity of the community.
Experiences in high school will provide memories that last a lifetime! To continue to provide the best musical experience for our students, we need your help. Over time equipment simply cannot be used any longer and dues can only cover so much. I am dedicated to giving our students the best possible experience during these high school years, and in doing so respectfully request your financial assistance. Most important of all, your generous donation will provide our program, more specifically, each individual member, with more opportunities to achieve our goals and succeed.

A Message From Jessica Sisson
Thanks for taking time to look at my fundraising page! All of the Band members got together and created a fundraising page to send out to our friends and family. I thought that I would send it to the special people in my life, so I hope you don’t mind that I included you.
This fundraiser is different-The goal of this fundraiser benefits not only the entire band program to purchase needed instruments and equipment, but helps me pay for fees and trips. Our Band Director, Mr. Barnstead, has challenged each of us to raise $800 but my personal goal is to raise much more! If you would be willing to help me out with a donation I would really appreciate it. Thanks for supporting me and hopefully you’ll be able to come out and see us perform this year—I promise you won't be disappointed!
