A message from Head Coach Craig Cavotta

MAKING IT HAPPEN!

As the Head Coach of the Columbia High School Football Team, I am extremely excited about this season. We take great pride in our program and our goal is to continue to uphold the standard of excellence that we have established over the last 15 years. As coaches, we ask a lot from our players and hold them to high standards in the classroom, on the football field, and in the community. Our program is looking forward to the 2014 season and all of the challenges that will come along with it. The foundation has been laid for consistent success and we fully expect to make this season a year to remember.

Although 2013 was a bump in the road, the Blue Devils program has established itself as one of the teams to beat in the Capital District. Playing in the Section II Championship game in 2011, as well as reaching the semi-finals in 2012, and the quarter-finals five times in the decade before that shows that the Blue Devils have a strong history in the Section. We expect this upcoming season to be another strong year for our program. We made great strides in work ethic, attitude and participation, and that continues to this day. Those character traits will take these young men a long way in life, on and off the football field.

I would like to personally invite all of our Blue Devil supporters to join us this season in support of our student athletes!!

How you can help the Columbia Blue Devils Football team

Continuing to pursue the high standards we expect for the Columbia Football teams requires commitment, hard work, and resources. We attempt to provide our players with the best experience possible, from the summer camps and 7 on 7's we participate in, to the training we provide, the uniforms we wear and the facilities we play in. The majority of our program’s funding continues to be generated from the players, their parents, and the support and generosity of Columbia Football supporters from all over. Our supporting cast is absolutely crucial to the success of this program. We hope that this fundraiser will help sustain the tradition of Columbia Football and give our student-athletes the best possible experience while playing for the Blue Devils.

As our players continue to work hard in the classroom and weight room this season, we respectfully request your financial assistance as we continue our efforts to provide our student-athletes championship resources and equipment. The contributions we receive will help us to cover the cost of upgrading some of our older equipment, both player equipment such as helmets, and on-field equipment. It will also help with other items such as our facility improvements, replacement uniforms, and training equipment.

Thank you in advance for your support!

A Message From Ryan Woods

Are you ready for some football? I am! I am also very excited to be part of the 2014 Columbia Blue Devils Football team. Our team has been working really hard this summer, and we are working towards a long playoff run!

One of our first challenges, off the field, is to raise enough money to maintain the activities of the football program. Our coach has challenged each of us to raise at least $300 -- but more would be even better! If you would be willing to help me out with a donation I would really appreciate it.

If you have a chance, check out our team website at

Here you can check schedules, see game results and get other information about Columbia Football.

Thanks again and I hope you can come to see me and our team play this fall as we make our playoff run!
