MAKING IT HAPPEN!
As the head coach for the Taft Charter High School football program, I am looking forward to what is sure to be an exciting season in 2014. Our goal for this year is to return Taft to its winning tradition and on top of the football rankings in the CIF. Our entire coaching staff is dedicated to developing young men that will be great on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. We will lay the groundwork for consistent success and are looking forward to starting a new tradition of excellence at Taft Charter High School.
2014 is guaranteed to be another exciting season as we begin our mission of being the best we can be!
How you can help our football program
The accomplishments and goals we hope to achieve as players, coaches, and an organization take hard work, effort and resources. Unfortunately, high school athletics are only partially funded by our school and county. The large majority of our program's funding continues to be generated from the players, their parents, and the support and generosity in the community. This supporting cast is an integral part in the success of our program.
Our young men have been working very hard with off-season training and in the classroom. As they do their work and start to prepare for practice, we respectfully request your financial assistance to help our team with some pressing needs. Our goal is to offer our players the very best football experience possible. Every contribution we receive will help us to cover the costs of Football Camps, Helmets, Shoulders Pads, Uniforms, Balls, and other equipment that we need to be our best. Most importantly this fundraiser will provide our players and coaches with the support needed to develop strong, young men of character, integrity, and pride.

A Message From Melvin Jackson
Are you ready for some football? I am! I am also very excited to be part of the 2014 Taft Toreadors Football Team. Our team has been working really hard preparing for this season, and we are ready for a spot back in the playoffs!
One of our first challenges, off the field, is to raise enough money to help with new uniforms, helmets, football camps, and practice equipment. Our coach has challenged each of us to raise at least $350, but more would be even better! If you would be willing to help me out with a donation I would really appreciate it.
Thanks again and I hope you can come to see me and our team play this fall as we make our climb back to the top of the CIF!
