A message from Director Casey Eubanks
2018 is shaping up to be a tremendous year for the students in the Sequoyah High School Marching Band. As performers, our students are in constant demand, both on the local and on national level. In my 8 years as director, the music program has flourished. We have over 200 students participating in band and orchestra. In 2016, the marching band traveled to Chicago to participate in the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade and went to New York in 2018 to participate in the St. Patrick’s Day parade. The Symphony Band, Symphonic Band, and String Orchestra have earned over 50 superior ratings in 28 years at GMEA District 9 Large Group Performance Evaluations. The SHS Marching Band consistently wins class and grand championships including the Creekview Classic in 2016 and the Blue Ridge Mountain Marching Festival in 2017.
As Director of Bands, I am extremely proud of our past accomplishments. As a program, we constantly strive to live up to the high expectations of our past, and to set new performance standards for our current students. On behalf of all of the students, parents and staff associated with the Sequoyah High School Instrumental Music Program, I thank you for your support of our amazing students!
How you can help the Sequoyah High School Band of Chiefs
Our many accomplishments require not only hard work and effort on the part of our students, but also financial resources. Our school district does not provide funding for the majority of our marching band cost. Our budget must be covered by a combination of student fees and fund raising efforts (either directly or indirectly through their friends, family, and business associates).
As our students are preparing for the 2018-19 school year, we are also preparing for the band season. Part of what makes us so successful is the quality of our instruments and the uniforms which allow us to look our best when we perform. Unfortunately, as with anything that is used frequently over a period of time, these need to be replaced and upgraded. We are raising funds to pay for our replacement uniforms, to purchase new, upgraded instruments including marimbas and drums, and to buy a new drum major stand. As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, the Sequoyah Instrumental Music Foundation respectfully requests your tax-deductible financial assistance for our effort to provide our band members with the best possible experience while performing for the Band of Chiefs. Even the smallest donation does make a difference!
Thank you so much for your support of the Sequoyah Marching Band!
Sincerely,
Casey Eubanks

A Message From Lily Dunlop
GO CHIEFS! I can't tell you how excited I am about being a member of the Band of Chiefs! It has really allowed me to have a GREAT high school experience so far. As we get ready for the 2018-19 school year, each of the band members created a fundraising page to send out to our friends and family, so of course I thought of you.
This fundraiser will help pay for some new instruments that we need but more importantly will help pay for our new uniforms that the county budget and our band dues do not cover. Our uniforms are over 12 years old, and I promise you, they need this upgrade!
Director Eubanks has challenged each of us to raise $400, which I know I can do with your help. I really appreciate your donation and want to thank you for supporting me. Hopefully, you'll be able to come out and see us perform one day soon. I promise you will see a great show!
Thanks for your support!
